Q&A: How I Edit My Videos
I’ve received so many DMs asking, “How do you edit your videos?” or “What app do you use?”, so here’s a little Q&A about my editing process.
Q: What phone or camera do you use?
→ I film everything on my iPhone XR.
Q: What app do you use to edit your videos?
→ I use CapCut, always. It’s simple, free, and perfect for the kind of soft, aesthetic style I love.
Q: What kind of videos do you usually make?
→ I film daily life content, little moments like making coffee, journaling, cleaning my space, reading Qur’an, or going out. I want my videos to reflect peace, simplicity, and faith.
Q: Do you use filters or presets?
→ No, I don’t use filters or presets at all. I prefer to adjust everything manually inside CapCut, it gives me more control over the mood and lighting of each video.
My base settings usually look like this (but I always change them depending on the lighting):
-
Brightness: -10
-
Sharpen: +33
-
HSL Orange: -20
-
Temperature: +20
Sometimes I add or reduce these values depending on how the natural light looks in each clip. Every video has its own tone, so I edit it based on how it feels.
I’ll include screenshots below so you can see my typical adjustments 👇
Q: What font do you use in your videos?
→ I use Public Sans.
Q: What lighting do you use?
→ Honestly, just natural sunlight. I usually film during the day near a window, soft morning or late afternoon light gives the prettiest tone. At night, I only use my study lamp. No ring light, no fancy setup just simple light that feels cozy and real.
Q: Do you use a tripod?
→ I use a small tripod, and sometimes I just use random things around me to hold my phone like books or cups lol. But trust me, you don’t need expensive tools to create something beautiful.
I hope this post helps you a little and if you try my editing style, tag me on TikTok so I can see your videos 🥹🤍See you in the next post!
